Essence of Christmas

JESUS IS THE REASON FOR THE SEASON! REJOICE!

CHRISTMAS is the most awaited season in our country and all over the world every year. It is the time of hopes, joy and forgiveness. It’s the time that I always have the good feeling inside me. Every year at this moment I like to be with my love ones.
For many people, Christmas is a time of sorrow. They don’t have the extra money to buy presents for their siblings, friends and family. Many are saddened at Christmas time when we think of their loved ones who will not be able to come home for various reasons.

Why do people like this holiday more than any holiday?

Not because of the decorations, all the parties, Santa Claus and the numerous other events going on, but the REAL meaning of the birth of Jesus Christ. These are those who believe that is all the Christmas means to some people and quite so, but I like to think it’s because the Three Wise men brought gifts to the baby Jesus and that is how gifts became one of the symbols of Christmas
We can truly be happy at Christmas! No matter what may be happening, we can know that we are his children. We then become sons and daughter of God.
Look at CHRISTMAS in a new way this year. This is the year to invite Jesus into our hearts. You will then have a “Merry Christmas”. The joy and peace you will receive will last all year as you look to God for all your needs to be met.

Go Green! Stop Climate Change

Nowadays, people are experiencing changes in the environment.  Climate change is the biggest problem of the human being. It is already happening and represents one of the greatest environmental, social and economic threats facing the planet.  The climate can affect every people and our health directly through increases in temperature.
There are so many factories that exhale really destructive substances and pollute the air. We all know very well that air is something we can’t we live without. When we breathe the polluted air, we can get seriously ill.

Therefore, I conclude that climate is a very important thing and if we don’t stop the changes soon, more and more plants and trees are going to die, we won’t have enough food. I think it is better to first stop the changes in climate and then gradually reduce the hunger in other countries. Because if we stop the change, we are going to be healthier and everything around will be cleaner and it will be how it actually should be. I believe harmony between nature and human beings will return.

English Proficiency

OUTPOURING OUR HEARTS AND MINDS THROUGH LITERACY AND ENGLISH PROFICIENCY

As a child, I began dedicating myself to English language. As they said “English is the universal language”. Because almost all of the people know how to speak in this language but I believe that, that is not only the reason why we should affluent ourselves into said language.
It is not enough knowing the English as the universal language. We must put into our hearts and minds that English is very important to all of us. Through English language we can communicate to other people.
People must learn English language by grammars, pronunciations, spellings, and many more about the English proficiency. We must also practice speaking English so that we can understand one another when we go to another place especially in other country.
Our English skills truly play a vital role in our life. We need to improved and developed for brighter future. For us teenagers, it will be a great image and an asset to other people that would enable us to feel more of our personality.
Nothing is hard if we want it. Let’s be hard I hand to improve English proficiency. Let’s be hand in hand in order to improve our English. We must put into our hearts and minds the importance of English.

Human Rights

EQUAL RIGHTS AND EQUAL OPPORTUNITIES
Human rights play a role in everyone’s life but not everyone realizes its involved in every comment you make that includes someone different. Every near discriminatory “joke” you say. It affect, even if it doesn't affect you.
It means being able to hold hands with the person you love, work where you’re qualified to work without your skin color or sexual orientation being the reason you can’t; it means having the right to be human, making choices and mistakes.
Every day I hear comments being made about this being “nerd” and other comments about that being retarded. These are an estimated 1 Million words in the English language. What I don’t understand is why these words are chosen to describe something meager or something that lacks quality.
Humans aren't born racist. We are all born equal. So why it is everyone is bent on believing that one life is less important than another. Why it is person high up in society can get away with something other people can’t?
The right to be who were destined to be belongs to everyone, not just people who are favored or socially acceptable. My one hope is to see that change. Because we may be different on the outside but we are all humans. We have equal right and yet we have equal opportunities.

REFLECTION

We almost consumed months and days of this school year but we still have a lot of things to do. Second grading period is almost done. We encountered a variety of things, from freshly introduced lessons to mind blowing problems. In this subject, I thought I’m doing great in this grading. It’s because I finished all the activities on time and all the things that Ma’am Vera Cruz instructed us to do. In doing some activities I felt the enjoyment of this grading period.  And I also found the topics very interesting. I learned a lot of lessons or things. One of that is about the HTML or what do we call Hypertext Mark-up Language. It involved the tags. This lesson is new to us so we get interested to this. I learned that this HTML can help the students enhance their knowledge. Our teacher introduced all the parts, editors and kind of tags. And in blogging, we published different topics. In doing this, I expressed all my feeling so that it will become better.

As every grading period progress, more challenges are expected. Perhaps this is really the challenge of being students in the Special Science Class. We can’t just be mediocre; we have to strive to be the best in everything we do. We must be competitive but at the same time make it a fun experience worth remembering.

INTRAMURALS

UNEXPECTED INTRAMURALS

Every school in the world can experience the Intramurals. Because, Intramurals provide different activities or sports for the students, and even to the teachers that they can enjoy. In this event, students and teachers will have their new friends and become involved with programs that have bounded time promises. This is the perfect time to highlight fellowship, sportsmanship and to enhance our talents.
Our Intramurals is held last September 18-20, 2014. There are many sports that ISNHS Intramurals have. Like volleyball, basketball, badminton, football, taekwondo, tennis, table tennis, athletics and also the board games such as chess and scrabble. And there are some booths like horror, marriage, and message.
During our intramurals, it rained but the players in different sports/games still keep on playing. Some of the students watched the games on different sports. But several were bored and they decided to just stay in their classroom and do something that’s fun.

This was our last intramurals in Ilocos Sur National High School (ISNHS). It’s quite boring but its fun. I thank my friends because together we make our Intramurals unforgettable and fun.

MY TEACHER, MY HERO

Heroes are not like real superheroes, people who could fly, who could hold a car using their forefinger, not even fighting villains for saving the world. So, heroes are the one who strengthen you, the one who are at your side whenever you're down because they are there lift you up.

In life, people may come and go, some will be remembered and some will be forgotten. But one thing I am sure of, you can never forget the persons who you can also call as our second parents are our TEACHERS.
When we’re talking about our teachers, all of us are glad to thank them especially when you have learned a lot of great lessons from them. But we can never regret that sometimes we hate them because they are giving us a lot of homework and projects which are so difficult for us to do, right? Well, it’s part of being a student. We students sometimes don’t appreciate out teachers, right?
Well, I could not realize that teachers are great. They are really great and awesome. They teach us in all ways, guide us through different challenges. Their patience is so unbelievable, for us students even though are so naughty act so childishly, they still forgive us. They also act like our light when were on the darkness. They teach us very well and give us enough knowledge about things we don’t know yet. We students must love and respect our teachers even when we hate them we can never regret that their part of our life already. So we must show respect and love to them.

Thank you for all my teachers for being my hero in life, who save us in any circumstances that we may step on.

IMMUNATION: Arming Science Clubbers with Healthful Defenses towards National Wellness

First of all, Science is a systematic and logical approach to discovering how things in the universe work. It is derived from the Latin word “scientia,” which means “knowledge”. Science aims for measurable results through testing and analysis. Science is based on fact, not opinion or preferences. The process of science is designed to challenge ideas through research. It is not meant to prove theories, but rule out alternative explanations until a likely conclusion is reached.
The month of September annually celebrates the Science Month Celebration. There is again activities that will caught my attention to join. Today’s month is science month so it is a big responsibility for us to look for the goodness of our environment. In this year’s theme “Immunation: Arming Science Clubbers with Healthful Defenses towards National Wellness” talks about the problems in our environment facing at this moment. Global warming, natural calamities and pollution are problems involved in the said problems. People may help the environment to be better. We can help by following the simple ways like cleaning our environment, by not using spray nets because it will damage our ozone layer. We must follow these to have better environment.
We must know what to do in our environment. Science clubbers! Are you ready to do our jobs? So let’s go and to the said jobs.

MY MOM IS MY HERO

In everyone's life there are people who mean a lot to them but, every once in a while someone even more unique comes along. This is a person who you can call a “hero”. This is not only the hero that we watched in our television but we can see our own hero besides us. A hero is someone who has made a difference in my life, and it is obvious to the people around my family and me.
My hero is my mom and there is definitely no question about it. There are many reasons why my mom is my hero but here are just a few of them to mention. My mom is always her for me. My mom always knew what kind of medication to give me when I was not feeling well or when I was hurt. My mom knew how to kiss all my aches and pains, and make them feel better or, even go away. My mom is my hero because she was always with me. She was there if I just needed someone to talk to and she would always listen to me. My mom is a strong person and brave she will do anything for my happiness. My mom is a hero because she always took me places that I wanted or needed to go. She was the one who drove me to school every day and just for that she was a hero. My mom went over and beyond the call of duty by driving me to friend’s house, extra circular activities, and stores. She would also take me to the amusement parks and the beaches in the summer time to show me that she was proud of me for a great school year I accomplished. She took me too many countless places and I will never forget any of them. My mom is a hero because she always made sure that I had my school work done on time. She helped me with my school work many times no matter how busy she might have been. She wanted to make sure that I had a great education and so far you have succeeded mom. She also always bought my school supplies and anything else that I needed for school. My mom is my hero, because she always listened to my problems no matter what they were. My mom always solved my problems and she always talked me through my problems. Just by my mom being there to listen to me and being a best friend to me also makes her my hero. My mom is my hero.

I am fortunate to have a mother like my mom. I love my mom. And she forever will be- my Hero and my Idol.

Reflection

STUDENTS’ KNOWLEDGE

Students like me must have knowledge about computers. I'm now a 4th year student. I have so many experiences in this subject. And through this knowledge or skills, we can bring to life a new generation horizon which may take us to another dimensions, we never even knew has excited.
At first, before we entered to the computer room, I was excited to our new topics in this year. For me, it's not merely about being able to do all the activities that our teacher has assigned us to do. But it's all about discovering. This is all about enriching our knowledge. It is enjoyable. In our First grading in ICT left us remarks which we can enjoy. There are some activities that I am hard up to do. But for me it’s fun in making blogs. In this grading period, we tackled many lessons that are added to our mind. But the main topic in our ICT IV is all about in the field of internet or web. There’s so many lessons that I learned in first grading period like some people or pioneers behind the success of internet. And I also learned about the development of Internet. But the most interesting topic that focuses on my attention is all about Blogs, because since I’m elementary I didn’t used internet. With the helped of our teacher, Mrs. Evelyn Vera Cruz, we finished all the activities that she gave to us.
There are some of our activities that our teacher needed a draft. I was hard up in thinking about the topic, subject or ideas that I’ll add to my draft. It’s really hard to make essays but it’s enjoyable. Our teacher told us to remember that blogs are journals or our personal online diary. In making blogs, student like me can easily find information. And remember all the knowledge that our teacher told us because it may help us in our future.

State of the Nation Address (SONA) of the President

SONA OF THE PRESIDENT

President Benigno S. Aquino, the fifteenth (15th) president of the Philippines delivered his State of the Nation Address (SONA) last July 28, 2014.
A victorious group comes with a good leader who had the quantities to manage the country to get up. In this present of our country, there are many crises attack when people are affected and suffered. There are a lot of problems arise such as the devastation brought by Typhoon Yolanda in our country. There were many lives and properties destroyed because of the typhoon. Then the PDAF come out where many senators and congressman who were involved in this issue particularly Sen. Jinggoy Estrada, Sen. Bong Revilla and Sen. Juan Ponce Enrile. Then the number of crimes reported in our country is very high and this is very alarming to us. And there are also rational brown out occurring in our country. Does he really had a shortage of power or they are just doing this for their intention to increase the businessmen’s profit? Lastly, the Dap where President Benigno S. Aquino was involved, are they using the DAP for good of just for their self Interest?
In the SONA of our president, he has a topic all about DAP. He say to give a man to fish and you feed him for a time. A man to fish and you feed him for a lifetime. Pork Barrel Scam

July 07, 2014

To His Excellency,
Mr. Benigno Simon C. Aquino III
President, Philippines

Have a nice day sir! I am Jessa Mae T. Aguimbag of Ilocos Sur National High School, writing a letter to you.
As th e world examine the achievements and challenges toward our country. We, , the Filipinos, are writing to you a highlight how important it is that the Government of the Philippines adopt the Freedom of information Act. As a student, I observe that our country is getting worse because of the pork barrel scam. We all know that some of the Filipinos are poor. But they pay their taxes. Today, in our history , there’s so many cases about this scam. I want this to be moved away here in the Philippines
Moneys of all Filipino are put in the government. Then some of the officials will be getting that money of Filipino. The officials that are involved in this scam must be jailed in order to preview all money f Filipino. I want these moneys to return to Filipinos. Student like me needs money to study well. We cannot study very well without this money because, it is important to an individual. You should help us to learn and teach us to earn money.
I hope that you can do this. I ask that you’ll support us in this financial problem. In supporting this, you must be a good model to us, students. I hope that you’ll remove this said scam.

Sincerely Yours,
Jessa Mae T. Aguimbag
